I'm happy to report that I was able to get out the door by 7:15a to go vote. And I was back by 7:31, in time for CB to head off to work. No issues at my polling place, in fact, it ran pretty smoothly for having been open all of 20 minutes.
I was in the right place. My name was on the list. I had my ID with me and I found it easily. There was a pen in my booth and it worked. The scan machine worked and took my ballot quickly. I was very happy to see that the ages of the volunteers spanned high schoolers through retirees.
Living in the town I do, it's the older generation that is seen doing the most in town. It's great to have more people involved. Perhaps if "the needs of the service" keep us here like we're hoping for, I will look into volunteering for our next election in 2009.
Hope you were able to "Rock the Vote" as easily as I did.
